At BlackBriar Bernedoodles , we are dedicated to breeding healthy and robust puppies. Our breeding program focuses on genetic health, temperament, and structural integrity. We take pride in our dogs and our work and strive to produce puppies that will go on to have happy lives as cherished family members. We stand behind our dogs 100%, for life. This commitment grounds our integrity and reputation as ethical, dedicated breeders.
When we hear of a Bernedoodle, Poodle, or Bernese Mountain Dog in need, whenever possible we step in to help. We also help breeders who reach out to us for assistance.
The puppy pictured on the left came to us from a new breeder who was not able to find a good home for him, and who reached out for help.
His name is Dexter. He is an extremely sweet puppy, but undersocialized. I have had him out and about in the car, and he does fine. He is social with other dogs and is neutral to cats. He is about 20 pounds at 6 months of age. (DOB 12/1/25)
He does well with people once introduced properly; at this point he doesn't like to be rushed by someone with an excited desire to pet him. He does not nip at all, but will seek to avoid if he is feeling insecure. He has a very soft mouth and takes food from the hand very gently. He is fully crate trained, going into a crate on command, and is doing well with potty training. He is fully vaxxed including rabies. He will do best with a family that understands the importance of firm training, not mushy, soft training. His confidence improves with consistent boundaries and fair consequences that give him a clear framework. His adoption fee is $1600. Serious inquiries, please.
There are times when circumstances intervene in terrible ways that make it impossible to keep a dog. Loss of job or home, accident, disability, and death are just a few reasons this can occur. Sometimes people are just overwhelmed and despairing. Sometimes the dog was a terrible fit from the start. There is a lot of pain and suffering in the world, and we try to support the humans in the equation as well as the dogs without adding to the heartache. No judgement, just solutions. We do this as a way to give back, in honor of and with gratitude for, the beloved dogs who have made our lives richer and more joyful over many years.
It's my strong belief that life will often put in our path exactly what we need at that time. Sometimes it's a dog who has lost their family and security. Or a dog that is still waiting for the family or person to whom he will devote his life.
Countless men, women, and children of all ages have had their lives grounded and transformed by a a dog who was "rescued."
Rescues are not always available, so if this option is of interest to you, check in with us from time to time. We will always be happy to hear from you.
