The Entlebucher Mountain Dog, also known as the Entlebucher Cattle Dog, is the smallest of the four Swiss Mountain Dogs. The Swiss Mountain dogs are descended from Mastiff type dogs brought by the Romans as they passed through the Alps over two thousand years ago. The Entelbucher is a true working dog.
They are energetic, intelligent, and great problem solvers. Entelbuchers are devoted to family and bond very tightly to their people. They thrive when they have a purpose, and are not suited to a sedentary lifestyle.
